A Few Updates

Sorry about the weird lighting, I took these at dusk, so some of them needed a flash and others it didn't work.

The beds (as you can see if you have Super-Vision) are all planted.

We have grapes! It looks like about 20 bunches of grapes, most of them mid to small size.

We got apples! Granny Smiths on the way!

Yummy. Yummy. Yummy.

  1. Oh, how lucky you are to have apples! I just planted my new ones this year, they came bare root dormant so they are just having their first leafing this year. More years to wait, alas.

The beds look incredible! So very neat and professional looking. Not at all like my sunbleached gray. :)

  2. Thank you.

I have to say I am really surprised by the apples on the tree. We planted early last year, it was going great then the suburban rats...I mean bunnies...took a few bites from the trunk. Part of the tree died, but some of it is still quit vigorous. The rabbits did kill the intended pollinator of this tree, but evidently there is another acceptable one nearby. Its worth the wait.

I wouldn't mind the unbleached grey, but my wife really wanted maximum aesthetics, so this is what I designed and it looks pretty good so far.

Our arborvitae are not doing so well and that concerns me a little. Any hints on that appreciated!
